Day 2 Ashnil Samburu

Another early start to the day but today felt refreshed after a good nights sleep. We set off  for Ashnil Samburu camp at 08:30 and got here in time for lunch. Every meal here is a three course meal and I can feel the weight piling on. Trouble is that it is so good and I cannot resist it. We travelled through several large towns which were mainly corrugated iron  or rough timber buildings, not much better than chicken sheds a lot of the time.
On entering the game reserve we saw giraffes, zebra, Dikdik,Gazelle and Gerenuk to name but a few of the mammals. Also Hornbills,
Ostrich,Eagles and Vultures are quite common, I saw lots of other birds that I have yet to identify.
Once settled into our “tents” we had to eat another 3 course meal before heading out on a game drive where we saw more giraffes, Zebra, Leopard, Elephants and   many other small deer like animals.

So far this experience has exceeded my expectations and I am quite looking forward to getting up at 05:45 ready for our next game drive at 06:30.
