We arrived at Nairobi at about 7 this morning, Kenya time. Can’t say I have fallen in love with Nairobi. It is the most polluted city I have ever been in. The air is thick with the smell of diesel. It took a while to get through Nairobi but once we were out the journey got a lot more interesting. It made me feel quite humble seeing these people going about their business trying to scratch a living selling a few items of fruit on the roadside, pulling heavy carts around WITHOUT the aid of a Nissan X Trail and generally doing things that we wouldn’t do without the aid of modern machinery.
We are now settled into our Hotel at Aberdares. It is very nice, in a beautiful setting and better than I was expecting. We have just had lunch, afternoon tea in a couple of hours and then dinner at 7. We leave for the next leg of our journey to Samburu at 08:30 tomorrow.
Managed a few photos today, nothing special but a flavour of what we've seen so far.
